really, that's what it means. My kids love meatloaf, so although this is a TREAT for my kids, it's actually pretty healthy if you make it the smart way. Here's a recipe I just found, but this is not the recipe I USE...lol. but it looks similar and yummy.

I'm so sorry for the lack of posts. I really only do this for me, but if it benefits anyone that'd be cool, too. So, if there is anyone out there that I have let down, I'm truly sorry.
We moved in October, and with the holidays, being off track, and switching to new schools, along with my new fun job of babysitting a friends' baby full time, I've been a little busy.
To be perfectly honest, I haven't coupon shopped in a long time...I've been buying only the bare minimum and essentials and we've been living off our stockpile. I still have quite a bit of Peanut butter and Ragu and H.Helpers, so we've been making a lot of that stuff, so we didn't have to spend all sorts of money on food. $ been a little tight lately, but we're on the upswing, I hope.

I am crossing my fingers that I'll get to do a big coupon trip in the month of Feb. and get back into couponing very soon. Been really missing all the deals.

I love me a SWEET deal! and last week, at my Ralphs,

#5 bag of potatoes were on sale for .68cents. this is the

absolute CHEAPEST I've ever seen potatoes for...in

the 18 months I've been coupon shopping.

So, I bought 4 bags.....

This morning, I baked 2 bags and made twice

baked potatoes to store in my freezer. Thanks to my

friend, Jill, for this idea a year ago. I do it every time

I can buy cheap potatoes.

this pic was prepped food for our camping trip

last weekend.

I made homemade mac n cheese, a crockpot full

of chicken for sandwiches and such and a pasta

salad.

I've decided a bag of chicken with salt, pepper,

and 1 can of chicken broth is a great idea. I put

it in tupperware, and when I get hungry and nothing

sounds good, I have myself a chick sammy. and my

HUBBY lOvEs them...yay for me!

I'm sorry there are no pics. my camera is OUT OF ORDER.
I have been cooking like crazy this summer. New recipes galore.
It's been interesting and so fun.
I posted some of these new recipes onto my friends' new
recipe blog. You should go check it out.
Last night, I made a new breaded chicken tender recipe, and
everyone gobbled it up, even my picky 9 YO. (she even asked
for seconds. lol) I've posted that one on the blog too...

We've also been roastin'! I mean, man, is it hot this summer.
and chillin' by the pool. and we've also been chillin' with our
homemade popsicles and sno cones.
go get yourself a sno cone maker. You can probably find them on
clearance just about now at your target or walmart. This is the summer
clearance season, you know.

what do YOU freeze?

this morning on a small trip to Henry's I bought
canteloupe..2 of them, which is A lot for me.
My 2YO and I are the only ones in the fam that
will eat them. (they were 2/1$)
so I came home and started cutting them up...
wow! but it was too much canteloupe.
so I wondered, could I FREEZE canteloupe?
I always freeze grapes, chives, peppers, onions,
strawberries, celery, broccoli,
and even bananas, so, looked it up...and there
you have it! You can freeze canteloupe. I'm so excited
to find other fruits and veggies to freeze.
That way I can stockpile on more fresh produce when
it's super cheap.

today I cut 5 onions, 4 green peppers and

penny Stretchers!

These are ways i stretch my pennies...

I know they aren't grand, but they are mine!

* we eat left overs

* i clip, print and use coupons

* if we eat out, it's usually off the $ menu or

kids eat free nights.

*we carpool with Daddy to save 1 car payment, car ins. and

registration, though this does make our gas bill a

little higher

* we turn off lights when not in use

*turn off air most mornings at the house

*up'd my text plan, so I wouldn't go over anymore

*stockpile on main ingredients and snacks for my

fam so I won't have to buy them at regular prices,

very often...sometimes I miscalculate

* don't rent movies unless they are FREE at redbox

* swap babysitting with a friend, so we don't pay for a sitter

* all my boys get HOME haircuts all the time

* turn off water while brushing teeth

***And MOST Importantly***

*Get all the FREE stuff I can get that my family

will actually use, ...cuz it's FREE!

What do you do that's not on the list? I'd love to

do more to stretch pennies....Help me, please?

great...nothing GRABBED my interest like those
ones, except the hillshire farms deli meat 1$ off
coupon in my LATIMES parade.

I had coupons for all tylonels and the motrin.

I turned around and used the 10$Cat right away.

1 Lg. Poptart
1 Quaker Chewy granola bars
1 nutrigrain box
1 box Capri Suns
paid 3.21 OOP, so basically I got everything in
this picture for free.
THE BONUS- My Flex pay account is money
I don't ever feel. It is an medical spending acct
set up thru hubby's work. They pull out the
pre-determined amount (we chose) every paycheck-and
it's all PRE-TAX dollars...woohoo.
We use this flex acct for co-pays, prescriptions and
over the counter meds and first aid kits, etc.
So convienient, never have to worry if there's money in
that account...
it's taken me a long time to realize that i can use this
card to EARN deals. (FREE money for groceries...works
for me.) thanks for reading...

Sweet treat

I am really sick of making these muffins twice
a week, so I made a double batch today. :)
so easy.
My kids looove these. My 6 yo takes 1-2 in his
lunch instead of a traditional sandwich.
ah-ha moment. I should make some sort of muffin/
quiche that can be taken in a lunch bag with
more traditional lunch items in it..like cheese and ham?
I wonder if that would work? gonna check into that.
any way- these are
Banana muffins, I add 1/4 bag choc chips per
batch so the kids will eat them. They are so
tasty.
give it a try. Delicious, quick, easy breakfast
on the go, too.

Yummy Salsa Chicken and Bean Soup

Picture is weird. don't know why the corn never
sank to the bottom of the pot.
The greatest thing about this recipe is there is
NO chopping and dicing. FABULOUS.

The problem was, I acted like a complete idiot,
using my thumb to pull the lid of a can up, and I
cut myself. It doesn't look bad in the pic, but MAN!
did it hurt.
Go check out CROCKPOT 365. She's amazing.
you're sure to find some fabulous and NOT dangerous
recipes there.
P.S. My hubby and I looooved this soup.

My GO-TO Dinner

When I'm in a pinch for time, this is
my family's go to dinner. My kids
LOOOOVE this one. I think I have
6 of this flavor, and like 10 of the
other flavors. But, THIS one is thier
favorite.
I added a green salad and for my hubby
and I, we put the mix into tortillas.
(A little more filling, and leaves more
helpings for my kiddos.) Did I say how much
they looooove this? I usually serve
raw carrots and ranch, too, but forgot
last night.
It's definately not the most healthful meal,
with 320 calories per serving and 29% sodium,
but it's not terrible.
Thanks Betty Crocker! for giving me an easy
out on crazy days, for being tasty, and not too
expensive. This meal cost me about 2.75 total.
SIDE NOTE:
When on sale at WALMART for .75 cents
you can usually get them for .50cents a box.
That's STOCKPILE time in my Price Point BOOK.

I got mine...

while at the check out today, I noticed GUM on clearance. STRIDE and Trident, yummy flavors, for .74cents a pack. Use your $2/3 Coupon and get three packs for .24 cents each. I, unfortunatly, already used all of mine...the Mandarin Stride is REALLY good. just a heads up.

also, Lays Stax were 1$, which is a normal price point, just hadn't seen them that low in a while, so I picked up a few.

on another Target note, I bought the Target brand pop tarts today, and the kids like them just the same as the Kellogs brand. so I saved .78 cents just by buying a store brand today. since there weren't any pop tart coupons to use...

A New EASTER sweet

While I made dinner, my 2 oldest
made a GREAT attempt at tomorrows Sweet Treat.

daughter did white chocolate, son did the M&Ms
we melted white choc chips and spooned them onto
the pretzels, cuz by the time we made it to the
cake supply store, they were closed. so, we
IMPROVISED, and I think it's totally gonna work.

My friend, Jennifer, called me last night asking if I'd like to go with her and do a run to the bread outlet. It's far for us, like 35 min on the Freeway, and we really need to go to the Girl Scout store in the same city anyway, so it'd be worth the trip. My hubba hubba LOVES Orowheat bread and since I can get it so cheap there, I thought "I'M IN!"

Though my outlet doesn't show up here, you should check this website out and see if you have an outlet close to you...find out if they have double stamp days, and what those days are...Doesn't all the food look yummy?

cheap diapers and Uber cheap wipes. Woo Hoo, I need these this week, well not diapers, but I couldn't pass up the deal.

Here's my inside freezer. I hate how small it is,
but we can't bring our own in, we have to use what
is given to us...see all the bags on the bottom shelf...
those are grapes...5 gallon sized bags, also green onions,
and celery. all Frozen for another day, oh and there are
strawberries and 2 big bags of peppers.

This is under my kids bathroom. If I buy some
little shelves, I may do more in here. I was worried
the Toby would tear it apart, but so far he hasn't.

These are just my razor. None of my hubbies,
which he actuallyd doesn't use...so I guess I have
more hidden in the drawers to the left. I'll take a pic
of all the deodorants. I have tons of those.

A frozen treat...you may not have thought of before.

I have to give credit where it is due...
my great friend, Jill, shared this with me
years ago, and my kids went crazy over it.
so, Grapes are on sale at Ralphs/Kroger for
$.88/lb this week, so I really stocked up.
In fact, I'm going back tonight for more.

so you bring them home, and of course rinse them.
(these are actually my leftovers, that I'm gonna
bag up for tomorrows picnic.)

then you pick the grapes off, only keeping the
good ones, of course. (I have bagged some already,
as you can see. I leave a few single servings in the
fridge for an easy snack.)
Then fill up a cookie sheet, or two with the grapes.
Sprinkle a little sugar...maybe a TBSP per lb. I did
3 TBSP for this batch. then stick in your freezer for
about 30 min. Pull out, and dump them into a FREEZER
bag and store until your ready to eat.
They are SOOOO yummy frozen. We LOVE them at our house.
and it ends up being a cheap snack if you get the grapes this
cheap.

Chicken rolls

Just one more recipe for today. this is what we're having for dinner tonight:
CHICKEN ROLLS
(my friend Catherine shared this w/ me ages ago...and we love it.)

Poach chicken-however much you need for your fam
we use 8 tenders
soften 3/4 block of Cream cheese
mix with poached shredded chicken
add Seasoned salt (to taste)
add garlic salt
and add chopped onion or onion flakes.
Roll this mixture into cresent rolls,
bake as directed on cresent roll package.
YUMMY.
serve with salad and carrots...or
whatever veggies you like.

Pizza-dillas, anyone?

I was chatting with my friend, Jenn this morning, and was mentioning our new staple meal in my home...and she said..."You should put that on your blog." And you know, I think she was right.

My major un-frugal downfall, is my love for eating out. Be it, Fast food, or sit down, I like to eat a meal that I DIDN'T cook...but it is extremly pricey to eat out as much as I want...so in an effort to lessen our patterned drive thru meals, I am trying this year to cook more.
Believe me, I love to cook. And my hubby LOVES for me to cook, he's so SWEET.
I found this recipe in a Parents magazine, whilst in the dentists' chair. My 9 yr old said...
"Let's try this..." so we did. (once there, type in PIZZADILLA)
Needless to say in 6 weeks, we've made Pizza-dillas more than once a week. They are even easy enough (and yummy enough) to make for an after school snack.
So enjoy this snack on me....
(I can't take credit...not my recipe.)

It's quite impressive...but since we just moved, I haven't found the cable to transfer my pics to my computer...ugh. So, my thoughts on this Sunny Monday morning are to remember to check your parade or other newspaper publicated magazine for coupons. Last week I almost threw it out without looking, and I would have missed Pampers Qs and all those extra P&G Qs.

Here's my biggest cabinet. Top shelf are some
cleaning products. basically what's opened and
being used...up high so my smallest won't get
into it.
2nd shelf-handsoaps
3rd shelf- deodorants and baby stuff
4th shelf-TEETH
5th shelf-Shampoo and conditioners, including
some baby shampoo
6th shelf-body wash, bars of soap and 1 shower
cleaner refill

This is one shelf in my closet. Left- face wash,
next is lotions, then face wipes and glade candles.

One more of my spots in my closet.
top shelf TP, hair color, kleenex
Middle shelf- women's personal care
bottom shelf- forgot to stock- Diapers.
I have another spot in my room of diapers,
just forgot to reload for the picture.
underneath that shelf, you might be
able to see a gray bin...
this is loaded with food. granola bars,
fruit by the foots and cheerios mixes.
I hide these so my kids can't have them
whenever they want. There's another bin
right to the left of the picture that's filled
with Cereals.

You gotta find a Bread Store

My husband is a little picky about his bread. We really only buy Orowheat...So a while ago, my friend Julie and I found a bread store, and we decided to go again yesterday. (It's in Murrieta, for those of you that live in So. Cal, somewhere near me. It's on Jefferson Street. I'm trying to find the phone number or address for you, but thus far, NO LUCK. ) We TRAVELED, yes I said traveled, about 25 miles away, Freeway the whole way, to go to the Orowheat Outlet. You really gotta find one of these in your area. You get a stamp for every dollar you spend, and when you fill your card up you get 2 free items, plus there is usually a double stamp day...meaning you get double the stamps per dollar you spend. Of course we went on a double-stamp day... our's are Wednesday and Sunday...
I bought 6 loaves of Orowheat Buttermilk, 2 loaves of 7 grain Orowheat, 8 mini loaves of Orowheat Buttermilk (these are only like 4 slices short of a regualar loaf, and more than half the price off) 1 box of Entemann's donuts 99cents, 1 pkg Orowheat Hamb. Buns=24.64
BONUS
1 free orowheat white sandwich bread
1 free Entemann's Raspberry Danish FOR MEEEE!
BOTTOM LINE
20 items for 24.64

*I didn't get a picture before re-organizing my Freezer and puting it all away. But trust me when I say, it takes up almost 1 whole shelf...all for bread. yipee.
